The Ketu North Career Bridge programme was meant to prepare the students for their career path as they complete SHS.
The beneficiary schools were the Dzodze Penyi SHS, the Weta Senior Technical School, the Afife Senior High Technical School and the Wovenu SHS.
Event
The two-day event was supported by Denyigba Radio and Revival FM.
The programme was an initiative of the Universal Child Care Foundation and its partners, Mr. Edem Agbana (The Edem Agbana Foundation), Group Atlantic Business Africa (GABA) and the Gabriel King International.
The programme, which was in sessions, was a blend of career development, course selections and story sharing amidst question and answers.
The facilitators of the programme were the Executive Director of the Universal Child Care Foundation, Ms. Emefa Quashie, who is also the Mama Hogbe 2011; the Lead Consultant of the Gabriel King International & Executive President SOLNetwork, Mr. Gabriel King Akpalu, and the Lead Pastor of the Global Evangelical Church-Penyi Rev. Charles Sena Adika.
Objective
Ms. Quashie, in an address to the students, said the main objective of the programme was to lay the right career foundation for students as they prepare to enter the various tertiary institutions and life in general.
She added that ‘’ it is the long-term plan of the facilitators of the programme to extend this event to other students in all regions of the country and we are appealing to the major stakeholders in the education sector to come on board’’.
The headmasters of the four schools were delighted at the programme and requested that it be held annually, as well as it been extended to other SHSs as promised by the facilitators.
